Abraham Fofana, newly elected president of the Wisconsin Mandingo Association (WIMAM)
Today's date June 11, 2008 is a historical day in Milwaukee. The Mandingoes and the African Communities are celebrating a landslide victory of Mr. Abraham Fofana over Mr. Musa P. Konneh for the presidential post of WIMAM.
The chairman of the elderly council Mr. Sidiki Konneh announced the result of the election shortly after the poll close at 5: PM and declared Abraham Fofana as the winner with 70% of the vote.
The Chairman of the Council Mr. Sidiki Konneh also begs and encourages every one to accept the result of the election for the betterment of our community.
President elect Abraham Fofana is a resident of Milwaukee who migrated to the U.S through the Diversity Visa Program and he is a family oriented person that has what it takes to move this community forward.
Our president elect Abraham Fofana has a full time job and a prospective student at the Milwaukee Area Technical College Majoring in Criminal Justice. In his victory speech, he promises to follow the foot step of his predecessors to unify the community.
Others elected are Mr. N’vally Konneh Vice President, Miss Mawa Bility Secretary General, Siaka konneh, speaker and Mohammed Bamba financial Secretary.
Vice President elect N’vally Konneh is a well known respected elder who possesses both academic and traditional knowledge something badly needed in our community.
Miss Mawa Bility was elected as the Secretary General of WIMAM. She won with 64% of the total vote over her rival Mr. James Dauda Toure who is residing in Metro Milwaukee. Our Secretary elect Miss Mawa Bility is a senior student at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, double majoring in Management information System “MIS” and Public Relation. The community believes that this qualify intelligence young lady will bring some set of prestige to this secretarial position.
Mr. Siaka Konneh known as chilly worn Speaker position. Speaker elect is among the first few Mandingos residence of Milwaukee. He is a home owner in Milwaukee and a renounce international business man with the reputation of generosity. He participated morally and financially in the re-settlement and integrations of many Mandingo residences in the state of Wisconsin including the first Bility family.
Mohammed Bamba was elected as a Financial Secretary of WIMAM. Financial Secretary elect has been a resident of Milwaukee since six years and is a sale Manager at the Mobil Gas Station. With his back ground in sale and Management, the community believes he is the right man for financial accountability.
